The “I Will Remember” bracelet is for all those who care for a Loved One with dementia or has lost a Loved One to dementia. It’s a reminder that we will remember them even though they may have forgotten us. Caring for a Loved One with dementia is one of the hardest and selfless acts someone can do. It is an honor to be able to care for those who once cared for us. This bracelet is meant to unite all those who care or have cared for someone with dementia and to recognize caregivers when we see someone wearing it.
Both of my parents have a type of dementia. It has been quite the journey. A portion of each purchase of this bracelet goes to support the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD). This non-profit hits close to home as it affects one of my parents.
AFTD is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people affected by frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) and drive research to a cure. FTD refers to a group of brain disorders caused by degeneration of the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain, which causes changes to one's personality, language, behavior and/or movement. It is a progressive disease with onset occurring most often between ages 45 and 64, and thus impacts family and finances in a way that more common forms of dementia do not. Currently, there are no treatments and there is no cure. AFTD works every day to advance research, awareness, support, education and advocacy. For more information, please visitwww.theaftd.org
