In 2015, Omotola started a blog focusing on fashion, food, and art. Soon after, her main interest shifted to art and listening to the stories of female artists. Bon Femmes was born from a desire to spotlight women in the creative industry after Tola learned how much women are majorly underrepresented in the art world.
