Giveback- Strength
I chose the word 'strength' for my Create for a Cause because this year I am training to run the last section of a 21 segment relay from California to New York with MS Run the US, an organization that raises funds to support Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research while raising awareness through the annual relay (and other events). I will personally be running 7 marathons in 7 days from Sunbury PA to New York City in August of this year.
To me the word I chose represents the inspiration I take from my 20 teammates, I am inspired by their stories and their 'why' and I'm running these 189 miles to amplify those stories and build on their momentum. It takes a hell of a lot of strength to keep moving forward through a diagnosis of MS, caring for someone you love living with MS, or losing them to the disease. To me, their stories pave the way, I'm just hoping I can help give their strength a megaphone.
